This is the class to take if you’ve never done clay before but want to dive right in, or you have some experience but need to brush up on your skills.

You will learn the basics such as wedging, centering, trimming, and glazing. As well as more in depth aspects like making and attaching handles, slab rolling, hand building, and surface texture. Classes are relaxed and teaching is one-to-one as needed. And all classes are a mix of intermediate and advanced students, so help and technical advice are always available. You learn at your own pace and through your own individually designed projects. In addition, all registered eight-week students have unlimited access to the studio for more practice — free open studio time — 24-hours-a-day, six days a week (the studio is closed on Fridays).

Our eight-week session normally begin at the start of every other month. Due to remodeling scheduled in July, the next class will be starting in August 2025. August classes will be posted and available for purchase the first week of July.

All of our classes are adult classes which meet once a week for three hours each; students choose the day of their class. You are then reserved a spot in that chosen class day/time for the next consecutive 8 weeks. You cannot change your class around each week, as there are only 8 spots per class.

Eight-week classes are $325, which includes 25 lbs of clay plus all studio glazes and electric kiln firings, and unlimited open studio time six days a week (the studio is closed on Fridays).

Please note: There are no refunds after the first class. Cancellations up to 8 days before the beginning of your class will receive a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 8 days before the beginning of your class will receive a 50% refund.
